The company Otto Weber Band GmbH, Wuppertal, Germany, developed an elastic ribbon which does not continue to burn, melt or produce any burning fragments. The elastic ribbon is available in different widths, elongations and designs. This article is suitable for safety clothing, automotive and other areas. It is a great enrichment for sectors where flame protection is essential. The elastic ribbon achieved good smoke and toxicological values and various flame tests are already available. A utility model protection exists and we applied for a patent.
