Holistic approach to sustainable production

Dresdner Spitzen`s sustainability efforts extend beyond just the final product; they embrace a holistic approach that encompasses every step of their production. The textile industry faces mounting pressure to meet sustainability demands, but it's not without its challenges. The multitude of sustainability standards and certifications can make it overwhelming for manufacturers. Dresdner Spitzen recognizes that the pursuit of certificates should not overshadow the broader goal of sustainability. To counteract this, the company has established an internal environmental management system that closely monitors water and energy consumption, chemical use, waste production, and exhaust emissions. They employ highly efficient dyeing machines and harness renewable energy through their photovoltaic system. By having their entire production process under one roof in Dresden, they also reduce transportation and minimize waste.

Sustainability meets heritage

Dresdner Spitzen goes the extra mile by subjecting their production to voluntary external audits to maintain their high standards. Their entire production process is certified according to step (sustainable textile production) by Oeko-Tex with a top-level score of three (top mark), confirming their commitment to environmentally friendly practices and optimal working conditions. The company offers a range of lace and lace fabrics made from recycled polyamide and elastane and has recently been certified according to the GRS standard. This allows their customers to certify their end products, which guarantees the presence of verified recycled materials throughout the supply chain. Dresdner Spitzen`s dedication to sustainability extends beyond its products; it serves as an inspiration to other companies to focus on sustainable practices and not lose sight of their essential goals amidst the myriad of labels and certifications. As a responsible manufacturer with a rich heritage, Dresdner Spitzen stands as an example of how tradition and sustainability can go hand in hand.
