Andritz Laroche SAS
Alexandre Butté’s answer to the question: what developments in the textile industry make you optimistic about 2025?
Andritz supports the industry in driving greener initiatives through single-source, cross-technology projects that ensure both economic viability and environmental progress. With nonwovens accounting for almost 20% of global textile production, bio-based alternatives play a crucial role in reducing environmental impact. However, the widespread introduction of sustainable products can only succeed if costs remain competitive and ‘green premium’ is eliminated.
Vertical integration is an important prerequisite for cost-efficient sustainability. By integrating the defibration process, our customers gain full control over quality and consistency, improve production efficiency and become independent of volatile external supply chains. A vertically integrated approach from a single source not only saves money, but also helps minimise risk and makes investments in environmentally friendly products more attractive. This approach not only meets the growing interest in sustainable products, but also positions companies for long-term success in a changing market. Andritz's one-stop-shop approach supports a wide range of processes, including textile recycling and bast fibre processing. This enables our customers to produce both nonwovens and yarns for the spinning industry and many other applications. By ensuring high efficiency and a low carbon footprint, this integrated model sets new industry standards and promotes sustainability without compromising on performance or competitiveness.
