Cooperation on iron silk road
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and UTLC ERA extend cooperation on iron silk road.
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and the United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasia Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) signed a letter of intent to expand their cooperation on the iron silk road.
UTLC ERA is a logistics joint venture in which the state railways of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia have equal share.
In view of the fact that since April 2019 Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has significantly increased its volumes on the iron silk road with the transportation of over 8,000 vehicles annually from Bremerhaven to Chongqing for a renowned German car manufacturer, this letter of intent signifies a strengthening of the partnership between the two companies. Their common aim is to further develop effective container transports between Europe and China, thereby increasing rail cargo capacities sustainably in the coming year.
Matthias Magnor, Chief Operating Officer of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics:
“Thanks to UTLC ERA’s support, we have been able to fulfill the new transport contract for finished cars to China very successfully in the past two months, with an error margin of 0 percent.”
Alexy Grom, President of UTLC ERA:
“Previously, our customers in Europe had to communicate with Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia in order to organize transportation of their containers between Europe and China. Today UTLC ERA is their central contact for rail transports through all three countries.”
Since its foundation in 1871, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has developed into one of the largest international logistics providers. With 10,696 employees, the Hellmann Group generated consolidated sales of around 2.5 bn Euro in 2018. The range of services includes classic forwarding services by truck, rail, air and sea freight, as well as a comprehensive range of CEP services, contract logistics, industry and IT solutions.
United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) is a rail container service providing transport between Europe and China.
