Invista´s Cordura brand announces a sponsorship of the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA). The association, with a mission to protect, preserve and promote the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail has partnered with soon-to-be released Hollywood film “Wild” in their efforts to bring awareness to the trail’s importance.

“The Cordura brand spirit embodies adventurers like those who have experienced the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT),” says global Cordura brand and marketing director Cindy McNaull. “Our durable Cordura fabrics are great for anyone from a first time day hiker to the most experienced climbers, a versatility that holds true for the Pacific Crest Trail as well.”

Spanning 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada, the Pacific Crest Trail traverses some of the most beautiful wilderness in America. “Wild,” based on the novel by the same name, is the true story about one woman’s 1,100 mile solo hike on the PCT. The movie will be released in December and brings to life the PCTA’s mission of preservation for this internationally significant landmark. Invista´s Cordura brand sponsorship of the PCTA brings with it a like-minded mission to help promote the PCT for future generations of durable people to experience and enjoy this national treasure.

“Its fantastic to see Invista´s Cordura brand share in our passion for the Pacific Crest Trail,” says PCTA executive director and CEO Liz Bergeron. “We at the PCTA have been passionate about the trail from the beginning and sponsorships like this one are what help us continue our preservation and promotional efforts.”

About the Pacific Crest Trail Association The PCTA was first chartered as the Pacific Crest Trail Conference in 1977. PCTA is the only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to protecting the entire Pacific Crest Trail through California, Oregon and Washington. Money donated through memberships, private and corporate gifts and government grants is used to organize and train thousands of volunteers who keep the trail safe and passable for hikers and horseback riders. PCTA staff and volunteers advocate for the trail and the surrounding landscape with government land managers and decision makers. They monitor development and resource extraction projects and ensure the trail is considered and protected. PCTA promotes the trail to increase public support for the resource and the value it provides. And through volunteer and educational programs, PCTA brings young people to the trail, creating tomorrow’s stewards and advocates. Learn more at www.pcta.org
