A platform for the industry’s transformation priorities

Techtextil 2026 and the parallel Texprocess will place key transformation fields at the centre of the international textile agenda. Artificial intelligence, digitalisation, sustainability, recycling and the circular economy define the thematic framework of the fair. In Hall 12.1, Stand D62, the IVGT will present itself together with 16 member companies as a joint platform for exchange and networking.

Programme elements designed for industry dialogue

The joint stand will host guided hotspot tours to innovative exhibitors, highlighting selected developments relevant to the industry. Start-up talks will introduce emerging approaches, while daily student meet-ups will provide additional networking opportunities. The IVGT service company TREUTEX will also be on site, presenting its expanded portfolio in the areas of environment, energy and product safety.

Skills development as a central focus

The association brings together more than 150 companies across the textile value chain from raw materials to finishing and technical textiles. A key focus during the fair will be skills development and transformation. The IVGT is involved in European projects such as Skills4Circularity, which aims to create new training programmes for a circular textile industry. A Europe-wide analysis conducted under IVGT leadership revealed significant skills gaps, particularly in regulatory knowledge, the integration of circular processes, data availability and collaboration along the value chain.

Training modules for circular production approaches

On the basis of these findings, practical training modules are being developed on recycling technologies, eco-design and sustainable production. The analysis also shows clear differences depending on company size: large enterprises mainly face regulatory complexity, while small and medium-sized companies are more affected by resource constraints and economic pressures. At the fair, the IVGT will provide information on initial project results and on further activities including workshops, seminars and specialist events on digitalisation, AI and the circular economy.
