Starlinger Founds STC Extrusion GmbH
STC Extrusion GmbH plans to focus on monofilaments for artificial turf and technical use. The Starlinger Group company has taken over selected assets of insolvent STC Spinnzwirn GmbH.
Service and spare parts for installed STC Spinnzwirn extrusion systems will be taken over and continued. This ensures that existing customers continue to receive the technical support they need.
A Customer Experience Center is available for customer tests, raw material evaluation, research, and product and technology development. Synergies with Georg Sahm GmbH & Co. KG, also part of the Starlinger Group, will be deepened to advance innovative winding technology and to offer automation solutions and handling systems for bobbins. The expertise of Starlinger's recycling division is also intended to feed into environmentally friendly solutions with higher recycled content.
The roots of STC Extrusion GmbH go back to 1866, when the company was founded in Chemnitz as Carl Hamel AG. It grew into a major manufacturer of machinery for the textile industry. In 2018, the Saxon textile machinery manufacturer became part of the Austrian Starlinger Group.
Angelika Huemer, CEO and Managing Partner of Starlinger & Co Ges.m.b.H., outlines the goal: "With this strategical reorganization we aim to make STC Extrusion GmbH the knowledge and competence hub for artificial turf and technical monofilaments within the Starlinger network and establish it as a technology leader and brand for these specialized areas." The company has full legal capacity and is already operational.
Nico Dürrschmidt, Managing Director of STC Extrusion GmbH, says: "We are convinced that with this solution, we have laid a solid foundation that will enable us to continue delivering value for our customers and partners worldwide in the future."
