21/03/2024 – Survey 2024
Mesdan S.p.A.
2024 is expected to be a difficult year for the textile industry and consequently for the textile machine manufacturers. The general economic indicators show that both the production enterprises and private consumers are suffering the higher inflation rate and the general energy cost increase; additionally, the geo-political situation is still critical and does not show signs of improvements in the short time. So far Mesdan has been able to limit the business shrinkage thanks to the diversification of its product range and of its customer categories. For sure some negative effects will be suffered but we hope to be able to maintain our sales and margins in such an extent to avoid critical situations.
It is going to be anyhow an important year, with many events and exhibitions to attend and many R&D projects to conclude, since continuous innovation is the only way to survive in such a competitive and challenging market. Those who are focusing their research on innovation, automation and digitalization, with a great eye to the sustainability, will be more likely to be successful in the longer run. Besides important economic resources, Vandewiele brought to Mesdan a new approach in this sense, and indeed during 2024 we will see new high-tech equipment entering into our catalogue, and existing ones renovated, with the acquisition of the latest technological components and the implementation of innovative solutions.
The recent geopolitical tensions created difficulties and restrictions in the international trade and have clearly shown that a unique sales and marketing approach for all the target countries can not be followed anymore. Deeper analysis are required and specific actions may be taken for reaching each single country. Being part of one of the largest textile machine manufacturers group, with production sites, logisitic and service centres worldwide, gives Mesdan an incredible advantage and lots of strategic opportunities, that for sure can help in adopting differentiated policies.
