Expectations vary greatly depending on the industry in question. Some sectors, such as the decor industry, are increasingly investing in digitalization, while others, such as the textile industry, are debating the need for digitalization but, with a few exceptions, are unable to find a way out of analog, established processes, don´t.

In my view, the digitalization of production data (production processes, texture, colour) and its global application between suppliers and clients will be decisive. This ensures better planning, quality and reproducibility with significantly shorter processes.

The general economic situation is currently cited by textile companies as a reason for not investing in new, digitalized processes, even though investing in these processes guarantees savings compared to existing analog processes in the textile industry, enabling ROI to be achieved within a few months.
The biggest handicap here is the lack of technical understanding and information about specific digital solution options among textile companies.
