Texhub.World as a digital best case
Texhub.World is a digital experience platform launched by Südwesttextil in June 2025 to present the innovation, diversity and future viability of the textile and apparel industry in Baden-Württemberg in a new way.
One year in numbers
After its first year online, Texhub.World has recorded more than 350,000 visits. The accompanying communication activities have generated over 225 million impressions. The project has also attracted attention in the communications community: at the German Prize for Online Communication, Texhub.World won in the “Digital Experience” category and took second place as “Innovation of the Year”.
“With Texhub.World we wanted to reach people where they now look for information and inspiration. The response shows that the combination of digital experience, career orientation and industry communication works,” says Edina Brenner, chief executive of Südwesttextil.
Value chain as a playable world
The platform makes companies, professions, products and innovations from the textile and apparel industry interactively accessible. Users can explore the textile value chain and, directly within the game, discover companies and career perspectives in a highly innovative industrial sector in Baden-Württemberg.
Interest goes beyond the platform itself. Texhub.World has been presented at specialist events, trade fairs and university functions as an example of how industry communication can be transferred into a digital, experience-oriented format.
During the first year, the platform was continuously developed. A map update added further textile and regional highlights. With the launch of the “Job Wizard”, career orientation was integrated into the game in a playful way. Most recently, the new raw material island has extended the experience: it shows where materials come from, which properties they have and what role they play in the textile value chain. Interactive tasks link this content with the game mechanics.
Permanent shop window for a regional industry
For Südwesttextil, Texhub.World is more than a temporary campaign. The platform has developed into a permanent shop window for the textile and apparel industry in Baden-Württemberg and illustrates how contemporary industry communication can reach new target groups. In its second year, the experience world is set to grow further and offer additional ways of making the sector’s diversity and capacity for innovation visible.
The textile and apparel industry is Germany's second-largest consumer goods industry and plays a leading role in the field of technical textiles. Südwesttextil represents the interests of the sector in Baden-Württemberg. The employers' and business association brings together around 200 companies with a turnover of 7 billion euros and 24,000 employees. Its activities cover advisory services for member companies, networking in politics and business, social partnership in collective bargaining, support for textile research and engagement for social and environmental standards.
