Collaboration with ReHubs, Brussels

Dornbirn GFC is proud to present a lecture series in cooperation with ReHubs, a collaborative platform aiming to scale up textile waste recycling in Europe by promoting the use of recycled fibres. It drives the shift towards a circular textile industry through cross-sector collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The lecture series will feature contributions from ReHubs members including:

Recover Textile Systems (Spain), Resortecs (Belgium), Refashion (France), Rester & Touchpoint (Finland), and Rematrix & Rubber Conversion (Italy).

RWTH Aachen & Industry Partner Block

Led by Prof. Thomas Gries from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, scientists and industry leaders will again present their joint innovations.

• Staler Anlagenbau GmbH, Germany – “Sorting It Out – Inspired by Waste”. Learnings from other waste streams help shape textile sorting technologies. High-precision recognition, cross-sector collaboration, and enabling regulations are key for a functioning circular economy.

• RWTH Aachen, Kira Heins – “The Journey of a New Material in the Construction Industry”

• LEIPA, Schwedt – “A Simulation-Based Path to Energy Efficiency in BCF Yarn Production”. This talk highlights how process simulations can lead to significant energy savings in yarn production.

• OceanSafe, Switzerland – “coNea by OceanSafe”. A revolutionary, 100% bio-based filament and staple fiber, coNea is biodegradable, free from harmful substances, and based on lignin – a wood-derived polymer. It combines sustainability with excellent performance for both industrial and consumer applications.

Dornbirn GFC ASIA / Korea – Innovation Meets Hospitality

The Dornbirn GFC ASIA took place on April 3 - 4, 2025 at Bexco, Busan, in collaboration with Dyetec, Kofoti, and Textile TechForum. Busan proved to be not only a dynamic venue for innovation but also a vibrant city well worth visiting. The event was a true celebration of global collaboration, sustainability, and technological progress in the fibre and textile sector.
