27/08/2019 – Business bags specially designed for women — auf Deutsch lesen
Bag Affair at the ILM, Offenbach
Bag Affair brings its vegan business bags to ILM Offenbach, the largest European event dedicated for handbags and leather goods, 7-9 Sept 2019.
Handbags that are practical for work, ecological and elegant, are a tough mix to find, yet these are the main criteria behind the creation of the French label Bag Affair. A "rule of three" to reunite functionality with elegance for women laptop bags, with transparency and ethics in production with alternatives to leather. An audacious offer to take a vegan collection to the heart of the largest leather goods fair in Germany, ILM Offenbach this September. This edition will mark the first initiative of the ILM fair to showcase new designers and creative initiatives in the leather goods sector (Hall C4, Concept Square).
Ronja Nielsen, co-founder of Bag Affair and Director of Operations & Sales:
„Having just returned from Neonyt Berlin in July, we are excited to return to Germany again in September, this time with a focus on the luggage industry, which we would like to see evolve more.“
The collections are designed with practical elements in mind. Their ultimate goal is to make bags more realistic for active women, such as interior organization with up to 15 pockets, dedicated laptop space, keys, business cards, and more. Practicality in design without compromise on elegance for a professional feminine look for work, meetings, or travel.
Taiseer Khalil, cofounder of Bag Affair:
„We notice that business bags are more available for men than women, so we created Bag Affair to re-invent the utility of bags for today’s modern women and to encourage more equality at work and in fashion design.“
The primary materials used for Bag Affair collections are 100 Perlentaucher vegan, with cork and cotton. Cork is the signature Bag Affair alternative to leather with its lightweight and waterproof natural properties that makes it ideal for laptop and documents bags. The cork harvest of the tree bark is among the most sustainable agricultural industries in Europe, without cutting the cork tree, with zero animal derivatives or water pollution as no tanning or water irrigation is involved.
