Digital Fitting. To the point.
Virtual simulations in design, model development and product communication open up better opportunities for apparel companies in global competition. Those who successfully use 3D technologies create efficient processes, save resources and shorten the time to market for collections.
Fabric characteristics in a new dimension
Precise digital material parameters are the key to realistic 3D simulations of apparel and accessories. Hohenstein digitizes the properties of textile fabrics for brands, apparel manufacturers and their suppliers so that companies can build their own material libraries. First, the physical characteristics of the material, such as weight, thickness, bending and elongation, are determined on fabric samples. This is followed by testing of the fold volume and shape using a drapemeter. Finally, Hohenstein converts the results into the required input parameters and file formats of common simulation programs. The digital material parameters are thus compatible with the system used by each customer. Upon customer request, Hohenstein also simulates draping images in 3D to visualize the specific drape behavior of the tested material. The creation of physical swatchbooks is also available as a service.
Step by step to becoming a digital apparel professional
Hohenstein combines many years of expertise in traditional garment fit and cut development with 3D technologies. The result: a broad portfolio of practical services on the subject of digital fitting. The offering ranges from the determination of sizes and target groups to pattern creation and fit optimization on models and avatars in all sizes, as well as digital material parameters and various training opportunities. In webcasts, monthly webinars and workshops, Hohenstein highlights all important aspects of the digital fashion pipeline and makes companies fit for virtual apparel development.
