Frank Galfe is the owner of the fashion boutique ‘Campus…bei Galfes’ in Alsfeld, located in the heart of Germany. A few years ago, he transformed an old freight yard building into one of the trendiest event locations in the region and made the studio his creative home.

A clear call for sustainability

Initially, his boutique exclusively stocked big fashion labels but last year Galfe introduced his own creations to the shop floor. Together with his sister Juliane Galfe, a fashion designer, he has launched his own collection. The siblings share a passion for high-quality and fair fashion and have created a collection that combines traditional craft, timeless design and a loud and clear call for sustainability. Where possible, their clothing is made of locally sourced fabrics from Vogelsberg and the surrounding area: linen from Schlitz, knits from Wallenrod and brocade from Trutzhain. Galfe is particularly inspired by the artisan techniques used to produce textiles: “I never cease to be amazed when I see how our brocade is woven.” The knitted fabrics are made in a small family-run factory in Vogelsberg – by machines but in small and customised quantities.

Last but not least

“We believe that craftmanship – well-made quality products – deserve to be recognised and valued, and we believe that’s where we are heading. There absolutely is a market for fairly produced, high-quality clothing and it is possible to employ people in Germany, offer fair wages and put a stop to this global shipping nonsense. Our discerning customers really do appreciate our new designs and our committed approach. Our clothes are already climate-friendly in that they are made to last and you will want to wear them for a long time,” Juliane and Frank Galfe explain.

The Galfe siblings have created job opportunities through their venture and regularly collaborate with the Max-Eyth-Schule in Alsfeld which trains bespoke tailors and dressmakers. The GeschwisterGalfe label perfectly and expertly blends design and craftmanship with sustainability and vision.
