Pitti Filati 81 is poised to welcome international buyers and designers from the top brands in the fashion business. This latest edition will reflect several changes such as a fresh layout, a far-reaching reorganisation of spaces, greater collaboration with the exhibitors and a series of new ideas that reinforce the synergies between the different exhibition areas.

A new strategic location

An enhanced formula has been devised for the Spazio Ricerca, the creative laboratory in Hall M where the trends are launched for the next season. Featured as one of the major themes, "The human edition" is a unique showcase and research project that links in with other areas of the exhibition. Knitclub allows quality knitwear manufacturers to take centre stage, amplifying and reinforcing their strong connection with the Spazio Ricerca.

Fashion at work, on the other hand, is an enriched and interactive initiative that unites Italian and foreign exhibitors in the business of design projects and style, technical and production consultancy.

The clothing, accessory and vintage design trade fair, Vintage Selection, returns to the Fortezza, at the Medici Pavilion. Reserved for summer editions, it is designed to enhance synergies with Pitti Filati whilst offering a further service to professionals.

Events and projects at Fortezza

Pitti Immagine, Consorzio Promozione Filati and Elementi Moda have signalled the return of Feel the Yarn. The competition is dedicated to designers from the best international fashion schools and was conceived to encourage greater creativity in working with the yarns produced by leading companies in Tuscany.

The fashion show staged by the Accademia del Costume e Moda, at the Fortezza da Basso - Sala della Ronda, gives Masters students studying “Creative Knitwear Design” a unique opportunity to put their creativity to the test. The event is promoted by the Accademia del Costume e Moda in collaboration with Modateca Deanna, The Woolmark Company and the Pitti Discovery Foundation.

Lanerossi, the traditional brand specialising in Italian textiles, is celebrating 200 years of business with an exhibition dedicated to the principal figures who have collaborated with the company since the ’30s. The exhibition opens at Pitti Filati and is located in the Teatrino Lorenese at the Fortezza.
