This month’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition will feature a total of four S/S 17 trend forums, with a new forum on domestic fashion trends joining two others as well as the renowned Intertextile Directions Trend Forum. Located in the International Hall (hall 7.2), the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum’s conceptual and onsite design was led this year by the NellyRodiTM Agency, which also coordinated a trend committee that developed three themes for the S/S 17 season: Digital Native, Street Generation and Gender Profile. More details on these trends can be found on the fair’s website.   As well as the overseas trends in this forum, the industry can discover what will be hot for S/S 17 in China in three trend forums developed by Fabrics China: the new Fashion Focus trend forum in hall 6.2, and forums for suiting trends in hall 7.1 and ladieswear in hall 6.1. The trends in these follow four themes: Subtle Happiness, Dynamic Life, Cute Naivety and Full Experience.   Panel discussions enhance depth of seminar programme   New to the Spring Edition this year are four panel discussions, each of which is hosted by an industry association and comprised of panelists who are experts in their fields. The panels are:   •           Functional and Outdoor: Striving for Comfort and Performance. Supported by the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles & Apparel (HKRITA) •           How Denim Fabric and Garment Manufacturers Work Together to Cope with Market Challenges. Supported by the Denim Innovation Alliance (DIA) •           Implementing the 13th Five-Year Plan of the Chinese Textile and Apparel Industry and Footprint for Green Manufacturing.

Supported by the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) •           Green Opportunities with Flax and Linen. Supported by the European Flax & Hemp Confederation (CELC) and China Bast and Leaf Fibers Textile

Association (CBLFTA)   Design & Trend and Sustainability Issue seminars also feature   Some of the industry’s foremost design & trend agencies and studios will present their take on upcoming trends at the fair, giving participants unrivalled exposure to the industry’s best minds.
