Most non-iron finishes use synthetic resins that release formaldehyde during processing. Cilander carefully analysed its processes to gain a detailed understanding of the chemical interplay. After just four months, through the production of laboratory samples and the application of processing techniques for large tensioning frames, the project had achieved its goal of bringing an innovative, environmentally-friendly alternative to the market. The new non-iron finishing contains zero formaldehyde, and is also certified Oeko-Tex and Oeko-Tex Made in Green.

From pre-treatment at the dye works and high-grade finishing right through to final sign-off checks in their dedicated testing laboratory, the textile specialists at Cilander have every step of the finishing process covered.
