Heated non-woven for niche areas
Several new technotextile developments hit the headlines during this year of big trade fairs. One of our Top 10 developments is from the nonwovens.
Looking for a hole in the middle or unusual geometric shapes? Electrically conductive pigments make it possible to tailor the patented, heated non-woven from Future Lighting Technologies to the customer’s specific wishes.
“Our new material for non-heatable spaces is breaking into completely new application areas. In terms of electro-mobility, this could include doors and leg spaces in cars or, when it comes to homes or offices, perhaps floor spaces in lounge areas,” says Managing Director Björn Sobischek. The waterjet nonwoven is low in price, extremely flexible and, in contrast to conventional heated nonwovens with copper wire, can be cut to any size or shape. With a heating output of up to 1,500 Watt/m², it is comparable with other textile heat sources; the heat can be regulated with electricity and voltage.
