Diverse range of applications in construction sector

From 29 November to 1 December, COMPOSITES EUROPE will showcase the diverse range of composites applications in the construction sector.

The construction industry serves as one of the most important application areas for composites. One reason for that can be found in the diverse range of applications. You name it: countless components used for profiles and pipes, cable and light wells, covers, formwork, bridge elements, railing and ladder systems, reinforcements, and façade design elements take advantage of GFRP and CFRP.

3M Deutschland GmbH Advanced Materials Division will be at the trade fair to present their 3M Nextel Ceramic Textiles, which can withstand temperatures of up to 1,370° Celsius, and 3M™ Glass Bubbles, hollow glass microspheres often used as fillers or additives. A manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics, Ahlstrom Glassfibre’s specialisations include sewer renovations. CANNON DEUTSCHLAND will present forms for highly complex, oversized composites components for the construction sector. On exhibit will be the innovative CRESIM (Carbon Recycling by Epoxy Special Impregnation) process for manufacturing CFRP parts from recycled carbon fibres. The project exclusively deals with the utilisation of recycled materials; thanks to the new production process, up to 100% of carbon fibre waste from a range of industries can potentially be reused. Eissmann Cotesa specialises in the development, production and distribution of carbon fibre components (composites components).

I.T.E.C. offers AURORA DRYTECH saw blades. Used for metal-cutting carbon-fibre reinforced plastics, they’re perfect for optimal cuts, little delamination, dry processing, short cutting times and long service life.

Metawell’s extensive machinery and the use of modern manufacturing techniques enable the production of a comprehensive product range – from sandwich plates to ready-to-install system components. The company from Neuburg will also exhibit at COMPOSITES EUROPE. The same is true for VELOX, whose composites portfolio covers more than 1,000 products – from the thermoset matrix (polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, phenol) to glass-fibre- and carbon-fibre-based reinforcing materials, reactants, core materials, special fillers and additives, and solvents to processing machines, tools and other aids.
