Huge interest in embroidery

Several records were broken at this year’s twin Techtextil/Texprocess trade fairs.

In addition to the record number of exhibitors and the record number of visitors, interest in embroidery technology was undoubtedly also close to record levels. Whereas in previous years interest in innovations in the field of embroidery came primarily from traders and embroiderers, these times seem (at last) to be over. Anyone who is anyone in the textile and clothing industry was gathering information in Frankfurt about new ways of embroidering and embellishing all kinds of textiles and materials. Alongside embroidery businesses, it was brand producers, designers and product developers who were increasingly to be found at the stands – and not only from the clothing industry but also from the automotive, sports and medical sectors.

Many international textiles colleges and universities, too, used the trade fairs either to present themselves or for their teaching staff and students to gain an overview of the broad range of products and services available. Presentations of embroidery machines were not limited to a single hall or to just one of the fairs: some suppliers such as ZSK and Tajima (Filacon) had stands both at Texprocess in Hall 6.0 and at Techtextil in Hall 3.0. It was a logistical master stroke both for the exhibitors and for the visitors.
