Reporting framework: ESRS

According to the press release, the report shows how environmental, economic and social goals are increasingly being made measurable and built into processes, decisions and product development. A key focus is the ongoing development of sustainability management. By aligning its reporting with the requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the CHT Group states it is enhancing the transparency and comparability of its sustainability performance.

In parallel, CHT carried out a global climate risk and water risk analysis in 2025 for all sites worldwide and identified measures to further reduce the respective risks.

Recognition and external assessments

The company points to several external reference points. The PIGMENTURA dyeing process received the German Sustainability Award 2026 in the product category. CHT also reports an EcoVadis rating of 81 points with Gold status, placing the Group among the top five per cent of companies in its industry worldwide.

In addition, the CHT Group was awarded "Best Managed Company 2026" as part of a programme organised by Deloitte Private, UBS, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI).

Measures, value-chain transparency, social metric

For climate protection, the press release lists the switch to renewable electricity at sites in the United Kingdom, Brazil and Shanghai, as well as investment in the company’s own photovoltaic system in Torreón. These steps are complemented by projects such as the biomass-based heating system at the Dußlingen site.

For greater transparency along the value chain, CHT has introduced automated calculation of the Product Carbon Footprint, enabling product-specific emissions to be analysed and reduced in a targeted manner. On the social side, the company states that more than 95% of employees worldwide already receive compensation above the respective living wage level. By 2030, this is expected to apply to all CHT employees.
