The demand from Chinese consumers for European brands is unwavering. Fiege has now signed a co-operation with China’s biggest online retailer, JD.com and has opened a flagship store on its cross-border eCommerce platform, JD Worldwide. European manufacturers can to offer their merchandise on this platform, to access the Chinese market.

Ondrej Hradec from Fiege’s eCommerce Solutions team signed the contracts with JD Worldwide in Shanghai at the end of November. Hradec says: “By setting up the flagship on JD Worldwide we allow our customers to directly enter the world’s biggest eCommerce market”.

“We look forward to our co-operation with Fiege, to bring together even more first-class European brands with JD Com’s active 266 million-strong consumer base", said Kaisi Li, deputy CEO at JD Worldwide. “Fiege is a trustworthy partner to many of Europe’s leading brands, and their flagship store on JD.com will showcase some of Europe’s finest products.”

 German products in high demand

For added convenience in cross-border retailing Fiege formed a new company, European eCommerce Services GmbH which supports its flagship on JD Worldwide. Fiege also offers supply chain services: It takes between five and ten days for European products to be delivered to the Chinese end consumer, including customs clearance. Marketing these products through market places directly in China is the next step in offering a full-service solution.
