The electricity for the production and administration in Sprockhövel (NRW) is generated from solar, wind and water power. The CO2-neutral biogas is produced from residual and waste materials. Production has complied with the ISO 14001 environmental management standard for many years. Following the change to environmentally neutral energy sources, Jumbo-Textil is achieving annual CO2 savings of approximately 175 tons per year now.

“This changeover is not the only step we are taking in terms of climate and environmental protection. There always have been many other sustainability measures: for example, we have been handling our parcel shipping in an environmentally neutral way since 2020. And it is certainly not the last step,” as Business Development Manager Patrick Kielholz emphasises, reiterating the importance of the issue within the company. “Instead, this is part of a comprehensive sustainability strategy that we are pursuing at Jumbo-Textil and across the entire Group.”
