Revolutionising fashion with AI and ESG
At the ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit, ShinWon showcased how AI and ESG principles are redefining the future of fashion manufacturing.
ShinWon’s AI-powered approach to sustainability
At the 2025 ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ShinWon Corporation’s CEO JJ Park shared the company’s vision for sustainable and inclusive manufacturing. The global apparel manufacturer is leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI and blockchain, to drive innovation and resilience in the textile industry. Park’s presentation highlighted ShinWon’s commitment to responsible manufacturing practices, employee empowerment, and global partnerships as key drivers of its ESG strategy.
AI and blockchain transforming textile manufacturing
ShinWon’s adoption of AI has transformed its operations, making the traditionally labour-intensive textile industry more efficient and sustainable. The company integrates AI across production planning, smart factories, and design processes. AI-powered tools such as 3D virtual sampling and design prediction have significantly reduced material waste and shortened lead times, setting a new benchmark for sustainable manufacturing. Additionally, blockchain-based platforms like Retraced and RFID technology enhance supply chain transparency, ensuring traceability and ethical sourcing.
Empowering employees for inclusive growth
The company’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond technology. ShinWon actively invests in employee welfare and inclusion through initiatives like the RISE–Mastercard Financial Health Programme. This partnership aims to improve financial literacy and confidence among low-income workers in garment supply chains, fostering equality and enhancing business resilience. Park emphasised that sustainability begins with people, stating, “Technology is the tool – and inclusion is the objective.”
Expanding global manufacturing footprint
ShinWon’s global footprint spans 15 entities across 10 countries, employing over 30,000 people. With core manufacturing hubs in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia, the company continues to diversify its operations to adapt to shifting global trade dynamics. The establishment of a smart factory in Indonesia in 2023 marked a significant milestone, integrating next-generation ERP systems to boost efficiency and reduce labour dependency.
A sustainable vision for the future
As ShinWon expands into new markets, including the Middle East, its vision for a fairer, more transparent, and responsible industrial ecosystem is setting a precedent for the fashion industry. By combining technology with people-centred values, ShinWon is not only revolutionising manufacturing but also paving the way for a more sustainable future.
