Textiles Recycling Awards: Finalists

At the inaugural Textiles Recycling Awards in Brussels, six categories highlight retailers, products, projects and technologies driving textile-to-textile recycling. Finalists span the value chain from collection and sorting through to advanced recycling solutions.

Awards spotlight circularity along the chain

The organisers of the Textiles Recycling Expo have announced the finalists for the first Textiles Recycling Awards. The programme recognises innovation, leadership and measurable impact across the global textile recycling value chain, with six categories reflecting different roles in a more circular textiles industry.

Retailer of the Year focuses on trading concepts that integrate circular fashion into their business model. Finalists are Mango with “Closing the Textile Loop: Scaling Circularity at Mango”, Armedangels (Social Fashion Company) with “Armedangels: Circular Fashion as a Business Model” and Beyond Retro Ltd - Bank and Vogue with “Beyond Retro”.

Product of the Year brings together applications from workwear, circular fabrics, branded collaborations and verification tools. Shortlisted are Alsico with “Fitzroy”, Teixits Torné S.L. for “Transforming Mixed-Colour Textile Waste into High-Value Circular Fabrics”, Beyond Retro Ltd - Bank and Vogue with “Coach x Bank & Vogue – Soho Bag”, Elis with “Workwear to workwear” and FibreTrace with “FibreTrace®: Material Verification Technology for a Circular Textile Industry”.

From collection systems to rising stars

The Textile Collection & Sorting Award, sponsored by EVK, features initiatives from Saubermacher, Green Worms Waste Management Private Limited, Teciteca & Teci, Manuela Catania and Texet Benelux NV. Textile Recycling Project of the Year, sponsored by Redonate, includes Circ, Recover, BlockTexx Pty Ltd, Jiangsu Recycolor New Materials Co., Ltd and Pedrosa & Rodrigues.

The Innovation in Recycling Technology Award gathers Jiangsu Reo-Eco Tech Group Co., Ltd, Picvisa Machine Vision Systems SL, MacroCycle Technologies, Yuantian Biotechnology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd and Renasens. A Rising Star Award recognises emerging players and individuals, with finalists Epoch Biodesign, Matoha Instrumentation Ltd., Beyond Retro Ltd - Bank and Vogue, Green Worms and Fibre to Fibre.

The Textiles Recycling Awards Ceremony will be hosted by Mariska Boer, President of Recycling Europe Textiles, on 25 June at 2pm in the Conference Theatre at Brussels Expo during the Textiles Recycling Expo. Attendance is free for all registered visitors to the exhibition, conference and awards on 24-25 June at Brussels Expo, Belgium.
