29/06/2023 – Possibility of Combining Embroidery Threads
Coloreel's Latest Software Upgrade
The most recent software update from Coloreel, a Swedish textile innovation brand, enables the combination of embroidery threads.
With Coloreel's latest software update, combining traditional threads with embroidery thread has gotten simpler. The company added a multi-thread option to its embroidery software. The technology is based on applying dye directly to the thread as it passes through the Coloreel unit, resulting in precise and vibrant colors. With the new multi-thread option, the Coloreel software allows users to combine traditional embroidery threads with Coloreel threads. Mattias Nordin, SVP Product Management & Sustainability at Coloreel, says: “This update expands Coloreel's technology capabilities and opens up new possibilities for embroidery producers. It lets you mix and match for unbeatable designs.”
Coloreel offers customers increased efficiency and color options by using special effect threads like frosted, metallic, or neon colors, in particular patters that had limitations until now. Similarly, for larger areas of plain white or black, it is still cheaper to use a basic thread in that color than Coloreel's dyeing process.
The updated software includes Coloreel's stitch count feature, ensuring that the embroidery machine can stitch the design accurately and consistently, regardless of whether it uses Coloreel or traditional threads. There are several advantages to using the multi-thread optin, including cost savings over time, e. g., less usage of thread and ink, and the capacity to produce even more complex designs. Coloreel is also part of the movement to reduce waste and move the textile industry towards more sustainable production. By dyeing the thread directly, there is no wastewater, hence no water pollution. And using a single reel of thread and needle reduces thread waste and minimises microfiber pollution.
