The quality of a zipper is essential in order to guarantee long life for a garment and therefore an important accessory. Apart from the quality of the raw materials used themselves, also paramount is the quality of production methods, which determines the reliability of quality results over time in respect of future deliveries. Consistent quality, which should not be affected by time, is essential for Riri, on any product.

The longevity of a garment, as a consequence, is closely related to the quality not just of the zipper but also of its individual components, including strength of the tape, quality of the coating treatment completed, the puller mechanism. The quality of each component contributes to the overall quality of a zipper; the real challenge is actually paying attention to each detail.

As regards sustainability, starting from the zipper production phase, the following concepts need to be kept in mind: reduction, reuse, sustainability and recyclability of all components of the garments in question.

The trend in this regard now seems to be towards the exclusive use of recycled, organic-based materials, which are easy to recover for a second life and easy to recycle, or single materials.

This is also the direction followed by Riri products, for example Inox, the single-material zipper, all made of steel components which – combined with the absence of surface treatments – guarantees its high level of recyclability. In addition to this, the “sustainable products” section has recently been expanded to include the new organic cotton tape, available for metal zippers.
