Shifting colours bring embroidery to life

By reworking the colour palette of its bestseller, the Classic viscose fibre, embroidery and speciality thread manufacturer Madeira has killed two birds with one stone. The company, based in Freiburg, Germany, has not only expanded its colour palette, but at the same time has also updated its colour conversion chart in cooperation with Pantone. This conversion chart is a practical tool for all international users.

The standard No. 40 thread thickness is now available in 422 colours, including 35 ombre, multicolour and astro shades. Additionally, the Classic 30 is now available in 178 solid colours. Fine details and small fonts can be embroidered in 85 colours with the Classic 60. The Classic 12 range, their thickest viscose thread, has also been expanded by 12 colours. This thread is perfectly suited to larger embroidery designs and fine decorative stitching. Viscose, which remains the most commonly used embroidery thread worldwide, has a natural, silky shine and changes hue depending on the light, giving the embroidery a more vivid and elegant appearance.
