Threads from Gunold inspire a desire for the future

The new star in the embroidery thread sky, the sparkling Poly Star thread, fascinated international trade visitors at Texprocess 2019 in Frankfurt.

Other innovative products from the well-established company based in Stockstadt were also received with great interest.

Marketing Manager Stephan Gunold:

"The visitor frequency at our booth was excellent on all four days of the fair. We were particularly impressed by the high number of international trade visitors.”

The prevailing majority of visitors to the Gunold booth in hall five came from Europe, including Russia and the Middle East. In contrast to the previous trade show editions, this year hardly any single-head embroiderers and promotion wear trade visitors attended the fair in Frankfurt – this target group prefers the Texstyle Vision show in Stuttgart. Stephan Gunold: “But Texprocess is now becoming more and more popular, especially among the major embroidery companies as well as textile and clothing manufacturers, and of course we think that's very good.”

A Very Special Highlight

The Urban Living area in the entrance hall of Hall 4.2, realised by “Creative Holland”, the sectoral association of the Dutch creative industries, was a very special highlight at the Techtextil and Texprocess trade fairs as well as for Gunold.

On over 500 sqm, carefully selected examples were shown to illustrate to trade visitors how textile innovations are already improving human coexistence in the urban environments of the future. Four innovations were prominently presented in the Material Gallery: Poly Star, Poly Flash, Reflex Cry and Poly 40.

“Of course, we were particularly excited about the presentation. For us, this is a wonderful recognition for our innovative products and at the same times an incentive to continue to inspire our customers with innovative threads,” says Stephan Gunold.

The Gunold products on display in the Urban Living area:

Poly Star

The new Poly Star effect thread allows completely new looks! It is hard-wearing, sparkles in a total of 54 modern, bright colours and is offered in size 30 (NM 47, dtex 210) on Miniking cones. The thread is very gentle to the skin and certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Embroideries and decorative seams created with Poly Star look harmonious, subtle and at the same time very noble. This is made possible due to the special production of the thread, in which two polyester threads and a metallic thread are twisted together. Polyester makes the yarn hard-wearing, and metal lets it sparkle.

Poly Flash

The new metallic shiny polyester thread Poly Flash combines the properties and look of polyester, viscose and metal in a single thread. The innovative thread is hard-wearing, chlorine resistant like polyester (Poly), has a silky shine like viscose (SULKY) and shimmers like metallic threads (Mety). The result: The look of Poly Flash is metallically shiny, looks like hammered metal, rather frosted than high-gloss, used, broken in a vintage style. This specialty thread is very skin-friendly and easy to work with. It is available in 23 different colours and certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

Reflex Cry

The innovative effect thread Cry, which is available in the silver and in two different thread sizes, serves not only the aesthetic aspect but also the safety and protection of people. Used in appliqués, seams and embroidery motifs, Cry is visible from afar and offers the wearer protection in the dark. The effect thread consists 100 percent of a polyamide core with a polymer coating into which tiny glass beads have been embedded. The microscopically small glass beads are fixed in such a way that a homogeneous appearance is created and the beads do not fall off when subjected to wear. CRY is suitable for embroidery and sewing and is certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

Poly 40

Poly 40 is the particularly hard-wearing polyester thread for everything that has to endure a lot. Available in over 300 colours, Poly offers extremely high tear and abrasion resistance, is chlorine-resistant and suitable for hot washing up to 95 degrees Celsius. Properties that can withstand even extreme wear and tear and are therefore becoming more and more popular.
