New Lycra Antistatic Fiber for Workwear
The new fibre integrates antistatic performance directly into its structure while maintaining the familiar stretch and recovery required in industrial workwear and protective clothing.
Antistatic performance has become a core requirement across many industrial sectors. Lycra's new antistatic fibre responds to this shift by embedding proprietary additives directly into the fibre structure. This approach combines inherent antistatic behaviour with the comfort, fit and movement traditionally associated with elastane. For manufacturers, the material delivers extended functionality without altering established processing routines.
Designed for demanding work environments
Static electricity can be a critical issue in settings such as petrochemicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals and aerospace. Garments must support charge dissipation to reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge and limit dust attraction. When used within appropriate textile constructions, fabrics containing the Lycra Antistatic Fiber can support qualification to recognised standards, including EN 1149 and IEC 61340, depending on fabric design and testing.
A drop-in solution for knit fabrics
The fibre is engineered as a drop-in elastane option for knitted textiles. This allows mills to integrate antistatic properties into existing ranges without modifying familiar production steps. Multiple decitex variants are available, making the fibre suitable for base layers, tops, bottoms, overalls, jackets and vests. For technical teams specifying workwear or PPE, this flexibility enables consistent performance across varied garment types.
Broader portfolio presence at the show
At Techtextil Hall 9.0, stand B70, the company will also present other solutions designed to enhance comfort and durability in workwear. These include Lycra T400 fiber for long-term recovery, Coolmax EcoMade fiber made from 100 percent recycled polyester to help keep workers cool and dry, and Thermolite fibers, which offer lightweight warmth and industrial-laundry durability.
By introducing the Lycra Antistatic Fiber at Techtextil 2026, the company highlights a focused extension of its workwear offering, aligning antistatic functionality with established comfort and performance requirements.
