An innovative softness testing instrument for textiles and nonwovens: the TSA Softness Analyzer.

The TSA Softness Analyzer gives reliable and objective information about the three basic parameters, which determine the human feeling: the softness, roughness and stiffness of textiles and nonwovens. From these three parameters, an overall hand feel value can be calculated.
Included into the softness measurement is the measurement of the viscoelastic, elastic and plastic properties, which are represented by the elasticity, plasticity and hysteresis. With an extra module, the compressibility can be measured.
The availability of these individual parameters helps to optimize the production and converting process as well as the product itself. Additionally, the data can be used in the R&D, incoming control, quality assurance and troubleshooting.
