More than 30 participants (online/present) from 11 different nations (Bangladesh, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA) took part in the family meeting for mutual exchange from August 31 to September 2, 2022, in Belfast, Ireland.

The topic of the Knitting for a Sustainable Future congress was examined from different perspectives in five sessions from the areas of fibre materials, machine development, textile technology, management, further processing and recycling. The abstracts of the presentations are available at https://www.ulster.ac.uk/conference/50th-ifkt-international-conference. Much of the content will be published in a subsequent Scientific Paper at Communications in Development and Assembling of Textile Products, CDAPT, ISSN 2701-939X.

The participants did get to know the possibilities of the textile department of Ulster University Belfast. The program was completed with a networking evening in the original Titanic construction hall at the Harland & Wolff shipyard and an excursion program on Saturday to the Giants Causeway. The next 51st IFKT Congress is planned in 2024 in Canada.
