17/04/2026 – International nonwovens exhibition in Geneva — auf Deutsch lesen
Index 26 highlights innovation
Scheduled in Geneva from 19 to 22 May, Index 26 offers industry insights ranging from filtration and geotextiles to hygiene, mobility and regulatory developments, supported by Edana's market analyses.
Technical focus across the nonwovens value chain
Index 26 brings together 620 exhibitors from 44 countries, presenting materials and processes that intersect with many areas of textile production. The exhibition highlights how developments in fibre design, polymer chemistry and finishing technologies influence downstream applications, particularly where nonwovens integrate with technical textiles.
Market data and regulatory perspectives
The seminar series from 19 to 21 May opens with Edana, the association representing the nonwovens industry. It provides market figures from segments such as hygiene, wipes, filtration and construction. Additional sessions address public funding routes and outline updates to the Quality and Audit Programme for absorbent hygiene products. Presentations on CO2 reduction and circular solutions give attendees a structured view of current regulatory expectations.
Application-oriented sessions
A previous article on textile network examines the strategic relevance of Index 26 and the role of the exhibition within the global nonwovens industry.
On 21 May, the programme turns to sectors where nonwovens and textile structures meet. Contributions from Mann+Hummel and Hollingsworth & Vose illustrate the use of specialised media in filtration. Further talks from the geotextiles field and the automotive sector show how nonwovens support functional requirements in infrastructure and mobility.
Materials and processes on display
Across the exhibition floor, companies showcase innovations directly connected to textile processing. These include bio-based polymers, plant-derived hydrophobic finishes, PFAS-free protective textiles and developments in Spunlace systems. Process-related solutions, such as flash-drying technologies, contact-free application systems and energy-efficient spin finishes, address resource use and production stability. Research organisations and technology providers complement this with methods for simulation, polymer analysis and sensor-based testing.
Supporting formats
Index 26 presents its Awards on 19 May in five categories. An immersive experience highlights applications in healthcare, infrastructure and hygiene, and a Women's Networking Breakfast on 21 May provides an additional meeting point for industry professionals.
