“Material Health” certification for Freudenberg
Gold status according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard Version 3.1. in the material health category was achieved by the thermal insulations of the "comfortemp soft HO 80x" product series from Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel (Freudenberg).

The award confirms the safety of the materials and their contribution to the protection of human health and the environment. The “HO 80x” product series enables full circular design in apparels. The soft thermal insulations of the “HO 80x soft” series (“HO 803”, “HO 804”, “HO 805”, “HO 806”) ) is made from polyamide 6 wadding and is multiple recyclable in terms of a sustainable circular economy and are suitable for sustainable applications in the luxury, sportswear and outdoor sectors. According to Freudenberg, the construction as roll goods helps that the wadding does not clump and can endure multiple wash cycles at 40°C.
Certifications by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute are based on the identification of hazardous substances in the products and processes. In addition, an assessment of the impact of chemical substances on the three product lifecycle phases is made: final manufacture, use and end of use. After already achieving silver status for the same product series in 2020, the recent re-certification is a further testimony to Freudenberg's ongoing commitment to developing sustainable and innovative solutions.
