Innovative Denim Technologies Unveiled
The Lycra Company introduced its “VintageFX” and EcoMade fibers at Kingpins Amsterdam, setting new standards for sustainable and functional denim.
As Kingpins Amsterdam concludes today, the Lycra Company has left a lasting impression with its preview of two groundbreaking denim technologies: Lycra “VintageFX” fibre and bio-derived Lycra EcoMade fiber. These innovations aim to redefine denim by combining sustainability with advanced performance. The Lycra “VintageFX” fibre, set to launch commercially in 2026, enables low-stretch denim and woven garments to achieve a vintage aesthetic without compromising comfort or fit. Engineered with a patent-pending dual-core technology, this fiber offers controlled stretch, reduced seam slippage, and a compact, flat surface. It also ensures garments retain their shape and drape, making it an attractive option for brands focused on quality and durability.
Meanwhile, the bio-derived Lycra EcoMade fiber, composed of 70% annually renewable plant-based resources, is designed to reduce environmental impact. This drop-in solution, commercially available later this year, serves as a one-to-one replacement for original Lycra fibre, requiring no changes to existing production processes.
“At the Lycra Company, we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of fibre innovation to help our customers deliver what’s next in denim,” said Ebru Ozaydin, Global Product Director for denim, wovens, and ready-to-wear.
Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
The Lycra Company also partnered with iTextiles, Neela, and Circulose to present the B-logic collection, featuring nine unique outfits designed by denim expert Gordon Muir. This collaboration envisions fashion as a cycle of renewal and purpose, challenging the notion of disposable apparel.
With these innovations, the Lycra Company reinforces its commitment to sustainability and innovation, offering solutions that meet the evolving demands of the textile industry.
