Klopman produces 700,000 protective masks per month
The European leader in workwear fabrics will produce fabric masks that are washable and reusable up to 50 times.
Klopman, a leading European company in the production of protectivewear fabrics, with over 50 years’ experience, responds to the needs imposed by the Coronavirus emergency and offers its know-how to produce up to 700,000 protective masks per month, sterilizable and reusable up to 50 times.
Due to its capability in the production of fabrics for the medical and health sectors, the company has been included in the list of essential activities for the social life , and as always is working and scrupulously following the ministerial provisions in terms of the health of its employees.
The masks will be made from a double layer of fabric to ensure maximum protection and comfort while in contact with the nose and mouth. A first batch of 10,000 masks will be donated to the health authority of Frosinone and to the hospital “Fabrizio Spaziani” and – thanks to a specifically set-up supply chain – the company will be able to rapidly respond to the needs of public and private operators.
In order to ensure a barrier effect with low particle release, the masks will be made from a very solid fabric construction, with 100 percent Polyester for the outer shell. The Vectron 8200 fabric, usually used in electronics, clean rooms and in hospitals due to its characteristics, is an extremely sturdy fabric with a hydro/oil repellent finish for domestic and industrial washing at 75°C.
Inside, breathability is ensured by solutions in polyester/cotton blending that guarantee not only comfort in both wearing and breathability, but also in mechanical properties and durability.
The know-how acquired from over 50 years experience and the professionalism of the collaborators has enabled to produce a range of masks in record time, completely made in Italy, with superior performance compared to the disposable ones widely used today in hospitals.
Alfonso Marra, CEO of Klopman:
“Italy, like many European countries, is paying the price of the mass market of disposable devices, which today are hard to supply. The increasing demand and the extreme emergency our hospitals are facing today have driven us to do our part. For years we have been offering fabrics for this market and today we are reshaping our production capacity to answer, above all, the needs of our clothes maker customers, who have increased the production of clothing for doctors and healthcare personnel. At the same time we wanted to develop ready–to–use solutions that will save time and precious resources without compromising on safety.”
