The versatility and low price of PVC coated fabric have made it amongst the most popular solutions for a wide range of applications. However, soft PVC coating include harmful, toxic plasticizers which are released over the entire lifespan of the fabric. Then, at the end of its life, PVC coated fabrics end up in incinerators or are dumped in landfill releasing more harmful substances into the environment.

For decades companies have been trying to replace harmful PVC coated fabrics with a more sustainable polymer. Although there are alternatives available they are generally too costly to compete with PVC coated fabrics.

Rivertex Technical fabrics Group has developed Rivercyclon, a non-toxic, recyclable, lightweight and cost effective alternative to PVC coated fabrics. Rivercyclon is made from a single, most commonly recycled polymer that contains no plasticizers or other toxins and can be fully recycled. It is up to 40% lighter than PVC coated alternatives, it has great welding strength and high UV resistance

Rivertex Technical Fabrics Group was founded in 1980 and offers a wide range of technical fabrics for customers in many markets and applications. The company is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of coated and laminated fabrics and films.
