Advanced haptic analysis of textiles
Emtec Electronic will present its redesigned TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer at Cinte Techtextil China 2024 from September 19-21.
During the international event, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors, emtec’s Global Business Development Manager, Alexander Gruener, along with partner company Roachelab Asia, will present the redesigned TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer, an innovation that aims to revolutionize haptic testing of textiles.
Winner of the Innovation Award “New Products” at Techtextil North America in August 2024, the TSA goes beyond the limitations of conventional hand testing methods by quickly providing objective data on the haptic properties of different materials. In less than two minutes, parameters such as surface softness, surface smoothness, stretch and recovery behavior are evaluated.
The most important new features of the improved TSA include:
Thermo-haptic measurements, including thermal insulation
Enhanced evaluation of springback behavior
High-resolution image with an integrated camera
Another new feature is the option of virtual sample management, as the TSA measurement data can be automatically saved in the Virtual Haptic Library. The digital database was developed in collaboration with Black Swan Textiles and categorizes the sample data according to specific haptic characteristics.
The TSA data is accessible via the cloud in real time from any location, allowing authorized personnel to perform quality control with exceptional efficiency. The marketplace function can be used to pre-select textiles according to haptic parameters and reduce the need to ship physical samples worldwide for haptic validation.
The use of the emtec TSA, also in combination with the cloud solution, offers significant overall potential for time and resource savings as well as a reduction in waste and shipping costs.
