Elevate Textiles and its respective brands, American & Efird (A&E), Burlington, Cone Denim, Gütermann, and Safety Components, prioritize global safety and social responsibility as a commitment to its employees, customers, and communities. The company is a responsible producer of quality threads and fabrics, solutions, and services, they place the utmost value on employee safety.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been a key aspect of Elevate’s corporate social responsibility strategy since its membership with the UN Global Compact in 2019. The manufacturer takes advantage of access to tools and engagements with other signatory companies that help them to better implement goals and communicate progress.

Ten Threads of Sustainability

The SDGs are also embedded within Elevate’s Ten Threads of Sustainability, which were established as pillars used to measure progress towards sustainability goals.

Serving as the primary resource for employee relations and safety, Elevate’s Global Code of Conduct is publicly available on their website and is fully aligned with international standards and the UN Global Compact Ten Principles. Regardless of location, the facilities consistently adhere to the Code of Conduct, prioritize worker well-being, and are regularly monitored for verification of practices. Elevate participates in boards and committees that are actively working to drive change, such as the ZDHC Programme, the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the Science Based Targets initiative, and more. They utilize partnerships with third party organizations as a way to maintain accountability.

The Vendor Code of Conduct

Elevate has implemented programs that encourage both upstream and downstream social compliance for its textile production partners; they require suppliers to sign a Vendor Code of Conduct, ensuring the vision for safe work is shared.

Elevate uses SAC’s sustainability measurement suite of tools, the Higg Index, to drive responsibility throughout its supply chain. Facilities are providing transparency to stakeholders through its adoption of the Higg Facility Social and Labor Module (FSLM), allowing facilities to share social information with customers and helping Elevate compare its metrics against industry standards.
