“The need to reduce environmental impacts is affecting every aspect of our lives. Consumers seeking for products that are more durable to reduce waste and their environmental footprint in their everyday lives. Our DuPont Tyvek for Graphics provide a high quality, long-lasting print substrate that can make print and graphics more durable,” says Kelly Reichert, Global Business Director, DuPont Tyvek Roll Goods Business.

Made of high-density polyethylene fibres (HDPE), Tyvek is 100% recyclable. It forms a tough printing substrate that offers high durability and tear resistance and can withstand repeated folding and flexing without tearing. Tyvek can also be glued, laminated, sewn, stapled, and fixed. Its unique qualities mean Tyvek repels water, has excellent rot and mildew resistance, and resists soiling and staining. This resistance to damage further reduces environmental impacts because there is no need to apply additional protective coatings, and Tyvek based products have trusted durability.

Since 2022, Tyvek is also made with renewable electricity. DuPont achieved this milestone by purchasing renewable energy credits (RECs) and guarantees of origin (GOs) to match the energy consumed in its operations and is committed to additional purchases annually.

To meet growing demand for Tyvek, DuPont is making a significant investment in a new manufacturing facility in Luxemburg that will ensure it has the capacity to support customers well into the future. This new Tyvek line will feature the premier, leading-edge flash spinning technology practised only by DuPont that allows Tyvek to be produced to the highest quality. This investment will also drive Tyvek innovations focused on achieving even greater energy efficiency and functional characteristics to meet emerging market needs.
