The Italian manufacturer of the material of the same name is once again underlining its image in the world of automobile manufacturers through these co-operations with two global companies.

Alcantara interior for Porsche Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Coupé GTS

The new sporty SUVs by Porsche have been outfitted with the technical and aesthetic performance of Alcantara, in anthracite grey, to personalise the interiors. The sporty GTS versions of the Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupé are distinguished by a bold, stylish look, with 21-inch wheels, red-painted brake callipers and a twin dual sports exhaust system. The sports seats, exclusive to these versions and enhanced with red contrasting stitching, feature Alcantara for the central band to ensure maximum grip, with pronounced side panels to hold passengers in extreme driving conditions. Moreover, the seats can be adjusted electronically.

The centre console armrests, the rooflining and part of the doors are also upholstered in Alcantara in anthracite grey, with red stitching that enhances the sporty set up. The steering wheel is also in Alcantara for a precise driving experience in extreme conditions.

The Made in Italy material once again confirms its position as the manufacturers’ choice for sports cars: in addition to its technical characteristics (lightweight and breathable with excellent grip and resistance), it offers an unparalleled sensation of comfort and luxury, combining sport and elegance – true hallmarks of the German manufacturer.

Nissan also relies on Alcantara for GT-R50 by Italdesign

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is the combination of Japanese technology and Italian craftsmanship. Limited to just 50 editions, this is a supercar where everything can be customised, both inside and out, with livery inspired by the classic GT-R models of the racing world. At the workshop of Italdesign, founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro, four months of labour are required to create each of these four-wheeled gems, developed from a new Nissan GT-R NISMO.

The prototype of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, a special edition designed to celebrate 50 years of the Nissan GT-R and the history of Italdesign, features Alcantara in black united with carbon fibre to offer a sporty spirit and a significant reduction in weight. In fact, this lightweightness is a fundamental characteristic to improve the performance of race car.

Alcantara can be seen in several of the on-board features

The centre console, the instrument panel and the door panels – combined with a carbon fibre finish – as well as on the dashboard and the central band of the seats, designed to offer maximum grip in extreme driving conditions. The steering wheel is also upholstered in Alcantara, with custom spokes for the central part in carbon fibre and with the characteristic red stripe at 12 o’clock. White contrasting stitching and embroidery emphasise the finest attention to detail.

The prototype by Italdesign features a design that exults the sporty character of the car thanks to the technical characteristics of Alcantara – lightweightness, grip and breathability – without ever sacrificing elegance. Furthermore, in line with the spirit of the limited edition, Alcantara allows a high degree of customisation, being available in a variety of different textures and processing techniques.
