A New Star in the Embroidery Thread Heaven

For Gunold it is always the highest priority to include only innovative and technically perfect products in the product range. With Poly Star it‘s time again: This special effect thread offers a completely new look. Embroideries and decorative seams sewn with Poly Star look harmonious, subtle and at the same time very elegant. This is made possible thanks to the special production of this thread. The polyester component makes the thread hard-wearing and soft, the metallic thread lets Poly Star sparkle and glitter.

“The existing metallic threads always seem to scratch your skin unpleasantly. This is exactly where we started with Poly Star: We were looking for a sparkling, glittering effect thread that also feels pleasant to the skin,” says Marketing Manager Stephan Gunold, “and with Poly Star we have succeeded!”

The new Poly Star, comes in 54 shades and is available in size 30 (NM 47, dtex 210) It is offered on Miniking cones and especially for patterning Gunold provides 54 colours in a convenient drawer box. “This is particularly ideal for designers, as they can let their creativity run wild and all colours are available to them,” says Stephan Gunold.

As always, the Gunold team will be happy to provide helpful tips for application and processing and will be presenting numerous application examples for the new Poly Star thread at the trade fairs in Munich (Munich Fabric Start), Paris (Première Vision) and Frankfurt (Texprocess) in 2019.

Additional Product Updates: Embroidery Backings

Gunold now offers five different types of pre-cut nonwovens for embroidery. Shrink-wrapped in foil five different types of STIFFY are available in 250 pre-cut sheets per package: this saves time and increases productivity as the nonwoven no longer needs to be cut to size.

BSN adhesive film and Thermofix adhesive fibers now with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, product class 1 (suitable for baby products)

Appliqués made easy with BSN and Thermofix. Patches, badges and emblems can be permanently affixed without sewing! This is made possible by either a permanent adhesive film or iron-on adhesive fibers. The customer can choose whether he prefers to use a large-area film or thermally bonded adhesive fibers. The result is the same for both.
